Did you know that you can now buy fresh fish online? Yes it is true - these days you can pretty much buy almost anything on the internet. Our love affair with search engines, principally Google, has meant that retailers, wholesalers in fact pretty much anyone who has a service or product to offer has an online presence.This may seem odd to you, considering the relatively short shelf life of fresh fish.  But some savvy fishmongers have realised that there is a market for those looking to buy smoked salmon or buy haddocks fillets on the internet.

It is now possible for online fishmongers to deliver frozen fish to your door, keeping it fresh for your enjoyment.the fish retains its freshness and flavours throughout the delivery process, as it is quick frozen shortly after being caught and delivered in specially sealed vacuume packed bags.  The fish is dispatched in a Van with a dry ice compartment, meaning that the produce is kept at a very low temperature and will not lose its freshness.

You may think it strange that consumers would want to buy fish online.But when you really think about the long hours we are spending at work and limited free time we have to enjoy, it makes sense that we'd rather buy online than head down to the shops.Should you buy fish online you may even find that is fresher becuase it has not sat on display all day long.

You might also wish to consider the choice available to you; the selection available in an online fishmongers will often be much wider than at your local supermarket, for example.  Aside from that not every town or village has a fishmongers; more often than not consumers are purchasing fresh fish from a supermarket.  Once again choice could be compromised, with only a smaller selection of fish being available.

Just doing a quick search on Google for "Fresh Fish" displays dozens of advertisements from specialist online fishmongers so there is plenty of choice and competition about!
